Hot Wheels Whips Hummer H2

One of the our most favorite items in our collection is this Whips Hummer H2 casting. We are huge fans of the West Coast Customs show and have loved their work on the custom cars scene, I actually saw this on the bidding section of HWCP and I had to outbid several bidders who wanted this item. Luckily, I won :)

What's good about this you might ask? Let me enumerate: Rubber tires, chrome wheels, very detailed casting, chrome detailing, a resealable package and the West Coast Customs logo at the back :) It is a  little bit bigger than the regular mainline Hot Wheels cars but if you have seen the actual Hummer H2 in the streets, it easily dwarfs the other cars in the streets. I have included a photo of the H2 side by side with a Chevy Camaro HW Mainline car so you can see the difference. As I was writing this, I was thinking this would probably not fit on the 4 lane raceway I posted earlier. Come to think of it, this might stay on the shelf for display only instead of having it's share of playtime with my son :)

Hot Wheels Club Philippines Swapmeet

These photos were taken last HWCP swapmeet a few months ago. As you can see in one of the photos, he went from table to table looking at the goods for sale :) after getting tired, he sat on our table and looked at the items we got for that day. A tiring and but enjoyable day nevertheless. Hoping to attend the next swapmeet if the schedule clears up. By the way, his Hot Wheels shirt was made by PhotoShare

Hot Wheels 4 Lane Raceway

After hearing mass last Sunday, we decided to drop by the nearby mall and saw this raceway. My son loves racing his cars and his old raceway (a Tonka Chuck & Friends raceway) can't satisfy his need for speed :) I grabbed this as soon as I saw it :) more photos coming.

How it started?

How to start?... hmmmm.. This might be a long intro but just bare with me for a minute or two. Basically, Zeon's Toy Chest is me and my son's toy collecting/buying adventures :)

It started out when he was about a year old (he just started walking) and we were at the toy section of our local mall. He grabbed something out of a shelf and didn't want to let it go so I decided to buy it for him. What was the toy you might ask? It was a red Hot Wheels diecast car. From then on, whenever we go to the mall, I would buy one car for him.

We hadn't opened any cars yet at first since he doesn't know how to play with cars at that time and would just throw everything he gets his hands on :). We didn't actually keep count until one day we decided to put everything in a box and it occupied a whole box. That was when we dedided to keep on collecting for him and eventually give him all the cars we had collected on his 3rd birthday. He also started noticing the cars more so I would buy some extras/doubles of cars whenever we have a chance so he can open it. We've decided to get extras instead for "practice" playing :D. That way, when he opens it on his 3rd birthday, all will look brand new :)

So the goal was a 100 cars for each year (300 for 3 years old) and I have just reached that mark last week but we are still collecting as this was both enjoying for us and at the same time something I can do with my son when he grows up.

So with this in mind, I will be posting some of our adventures here and some photos and reviews of his toys to document our adventures together :)
